Welcome to web home of David Amdur. This collection of images will show you the work that I do as an artist, designer and builder. The images show my efforts in fine arts, crafts, and construction over the years.... It takes patience and dedication to create from scratch, on commission or through a precise ordered formula. Planning and consultation is an important facet of my work.

You can ask me to come up with unique solutions for special projects involving improvements to your home or office. Working with diverse materials, including wood, metal, glass & plastic ... the creations are marked by unique expressive designs, built within the natural limits of the materials. Simple lines and seamless interlocking of parts are characteristic in all the work. A full array of finishes are also available.

As a builder, I completed my own home in the year 2000. As the designer, I drafted the plans, received City permits and constructed the home myself, on the weekends and Monday, in less than 3 years. My helpers were great friends who provided the extra power to get this place done... I set out to build my own house and all the furniture in it...and I am still working on it.

The Art Collection acknowleges the artists that have helped to shape my aesthetics over the years. As owner of the David Amdur Gallery on East 5th St. in Austin, Texas- for over 20 years, I worked with, and collected art by many artists. This work is important to me and on this site, I intend to display and promote the artists. The work is for sale and can be acquired by visiting the studio, by appointment.

The process of working for a client, toward a shared vision or a common goal, involving the arts requires experience and vision. Starting with an idea and visualizing - suggestions are gathered which meet the specific requirements. This includes conceptualizing in drawings, photographs or scaled models. Finally, the parts and pieces are gathered, shaped and assembled exactly as invisioned.
